Case Evaluation

MWELA Case Evaluation service is designed to better equip attorneys in the plaintiff’s employment law field. MWELA is well-known for providing valuable assistance to its members and the legal community on plaintiff's court appeals via our Moot Court and Amicus Committees. Since plaintiff’s employment law is increasingly becoming more sophisticated and difficult and, it seems, more pro-defendant, more attention must be paid to the bringing and litigation of cases at the trial court and the administrative levels. Through its Case Evaluation service, MWELA is putting more emphasis on the successful development, presentation, litigation, and trial of employee cases that originate in the U.S. District Courts and local state courts or at the administrative level.

The service is offered to MWELA members only. If you are interested in the service and need to become a member, please visit our membership page

We offer two options:

Three-member Clinic Panel which will review a lawyer’s case either before it is filed or after it is pending and possibly encountering difficulties. The Clinic Panel will review pleadings and documents in advance and then meet with the attorney handling the case for an hour. The Panel will provide legal and litigation advice and trial tips.

Single Evaluator Consultation where an experienced MWELA attorney will provide advice and tips on a particular topic to a less experienced lawyer. Topics may include areas of substantive law and procedure, litigation and trial practice, appeals, settlement agreements, and particular Court and administrative forums with which a lawyer may be unfamiliar. Specific topics are listed below.

MWELA accepts requests for panels and consultations on an ongoing basis, and the committee chairs will make every effort to schedule them promptly. Clinic Panels and Legal Consultations will be scheduled at a location and time convenient for the evaluators. To schedule a Case Evaluation, contact the MWELA office at [email protected] or 703-778-4648.
